Initially Eddie Mahoney was going to be
a policeman like his father in Brooklyn.
He went to the police academy during the day and played in
rock bands at night were he used the name of Eddie Money.
He decided to give music a try and moved to Berkeley, CA where
he played a lot of the Bay Area clubs. Promoter Bill Graham
saw him and signed him to a record deal in 1976. From 1978-1992
he had eleven songs reach the Top 40 with "Take Me Home
Tonight" reaching the #4 spot on the charts in 1986.
Other familiar hits are "Two Tickets to Paradise,"
"I Wanna Go Back," and "Walk on Water."
He also made funny narrative videos for MTV. He has a knack
for catchy blue-collared rock & roll songs, which fit
his somewhat raspy voice.
